“Ugandans refer to their country as the ‘Pearl of Africa’ - a phrase originally uttered by Winston Churchill - and it’s easy to see why. Uganda is a country of shimmering lakes, lofty mountains and mysterious forests.
Discover a country that is slightly off the beaten track offering exciting adventures and memorable wildlife encounters"

TRAVEL TIPS: Uganda

Safety
Relatively safe country, probably one of the safest in Africa.  Some political unrest in a couple of national parks in the West due to the civil war in the Congo. No real tourist related crime in recent years.

Money
It is very difficult to get money using cc’s from the banks – it is not advisable.  Very weak currency.
Banking hour’s 09:00 – 14:00 on weekdays, forex open till 17:00 and Saturday mornings.
