Namibia has a typical desert climate, with hot daytime temperatures and cold nights. The coastal region of Namibia gets hot in winter and it is also frequently blanketed by fog. Summer stretches from October to April and this is also Namibia's rainy season, with winter from May to September.
Activities:
Namibia has an exciting range of activities to sample when visiting this magnificent country. There are beautiful 4x4 trails or hikes in the Fish River Canyon, sand skiing on the dunes between Walvis Bay and Swakopmund or white-river rafting on the Kunene River. There is also the opportunity to take a hot-air balloon trip over the Namib Desert or try the golf courses in Windhoek or Swakopmund. |
Some attractions in Namibia include:
- Etosha National Park - an excellent wildlife-viewing venue
- Fish River Canyon - A huge gorge with exceptional views
- Namib-Naukluft Park - One of the largest national parks in Africa
- The Skeleton Coast Park - With an aura of mystery surrounding it, the coast bears witness of many ships coming to their end on these uninhabited shores
